“Mass Customization” Drives A Paradigm Shift In Offshore Oil And Gas Engineering
After more than 40 years of rapid and efficient development, the workload of offshore oil and gas engineering construction by CNOOC has been increasing year by year. Facing new situations, tasks, and requirements, CNOOC has systematically promoted the standardization of offshore oil and gas field engineering construction with the guidance of the “Five Ones” value creation framework—comprising a single work objective, a core philosophy, a technical mechanism, an implementation strategy, and capacity building. By innovatively constructing a standardized value creation mechanism model for engineering construction, CNOOC has effectively advanced standardization throughout the entire project lifecycle. This has achieved a significant transformation in offshore oil and gas engineering construction from “single-project customization” to “customized large-scale offshore development scale,” forming successful practices with petroleum characteristics and valuable management innovation experiences.
